Northwestern Men's Basketball Featured in Timberwolves Game Programs
ST. PAUL, Minn. (Jan. 8, 2008) – After their NCCAA National Tournament appearance and Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) championship in 2006-07, the Northwestern College men’s basketball team earned some publicity, and is being promoted in the January editions of the Minnesota Timberwolves game programs. Northwestern, who owns the second-most wins amongst Minnesota NCAA Div. II and III colleges and universities since 1996, returned all five of its starters from last year’s team, and owns a 6-6 record as they head into the conference season.
"This is a great opportunity for more people to find out who Northwestern College is and and specifically the role of athletics on a Christian college campus," said Matt Hill, Northwestern's athletic director.
Fans who attend Timberwolves games throughout the month of January are encouraged to turn to pages 60-61 in the game program, where they can view Northwestern’s spread which includes the school's signature "Light the Way" logo.
