Women's Basketball Trip Blog: Day 3
Email to a Friend | Print
Members of the Northwestern College women's basketball team are in the midst of a 10-day mission trip in Guatemala and El Salvador.  Follow along as they report each day's activities.

Hola!
Today we woke up bright and early at 6 a.m. and were on the road by 6:30! Our first stop was Mister Donut for breakfast...yummy! Our next stop was the orphanage. The kids there were all infected with HIV but they were super cute. Some of the girls were a little worried but no one was infected...that we know of. HAHA. The orphanage workers took really good care of the kids and their building was really nice. We played with them and took mucho photos! We also gave each kid a toy that they loved.

The third stop was to watch William´s basketball team play in the sun...we got lots of sun!  William was our contact in El Salvador.

Our fourth stop was at basketball clinic for a catholic school that we put on. Kelsey found her mini-me and two of their teammates had the names Rebecca and Maria...they thought that was pretty cool. The girls spoke English un poco so it was a lot of fun trying to carry on conversations. Each of us shared our favorite bible verse with them.

The fifth stop was our basketball game where we played the national 17 and under team in a grande stadium...almost the size of The Barn (Williams Arena). We won but they were speedy fast and really good for their age.

We ended our eventful night with lots and lots of laughter....many quotes made it into Ariel´s quote book.
Adios!
