The 2010 season will represent the 21st season of Dave Hieb serving as part of the Northwestern College baseball program. Hieb has operated as the head coach each of the last 14 years after working as an assistant coach for six seasons, taking over the head reins in the spring of 1996. Dave also serves as the head athletic trainer for the Northwestern College Department of Athletics.

A two-time Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Coach of the Year Award winner, Hieb led the 1996 Eagle squad in claiming the regular season conference championship. Dave’s 2007 team tallied the most wins ever in a single season in school history with 31 and the four-year stretch from 2003 to 2007 marks the most successful four-year stint in program history, recording 20 or more wins in 4 of 5 seasons during that time span.

Hieb is first all-time in school history for career coaching wins (233) and owns the record for most seasons coached in the baseball program (14), as well as the most games coached in school history (500).

Under his direction, the Eagle baseball program has produced numerous All-Americans and all-region honorees. Hieb has led and been featured as a guest speaker at several youth camps and clinics throughout the Midwest. Dave also works with the Minnesota Twins Summer Instructional Program, Twinsfest Instructional Clinics, and serves on the Woodbury Athletic Association Baseball Board.
